Ancestral Connection for the Uprooted
For those of us no longer living on the land our ancestors tended,
the land that holds their bones,
for those of us that have lost touch with our ancestral ways,
- WELCOME!
This is for you.
“We are braver and wiser because they existed, those strong women and strong men…
We are who we are because they were who they were.
It’s wise to know where you come from, who called your name.”
– Maya Angelou
We are living without our dead
We don't know the fullness of who we are without them
This creates a hunger we can't satisfy - a hunger to belong
When this goes unacknowledged it causes us pain
We distract ourselves
We take other people's traditions in an effort to satiate the hunger, while ours go untended
Our beloved dead, all the while, are calling to us…to come home
Connecting with our ancestors:
Allows us to tap back into the root of who we are
Reminds us that we belong
Brings us into integrity with ourselves, so we can be in right relationship with others, human and beyond
Integrates us into the web of life
Allow us to be nourished from those in spirit who love us’
While feeding back our energy into the ancestral line
And gives us a foundation from which to move forward
I can guide you to connect with your ancestors through, ritual, story, rites of passage and deep inner work.
We journey together in this world and the Otherworld.

Hello! I’m Kat
I'm from Border Folk. Raised on both sides of what is now the English - Scottish border, neither one thing nor the other.
Now I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains, neither British or American.
I exist on the edges of things.
I'm educated in Western Psychology (PhD) but I work in the forests and fields (dirt under my fingernails).
I guide Wilderness Rites of Passage Ceremonies and farm the forest.
I walk between worlds, guided by the unseen, reaching for the unknowable.
The Science of the Afterlife and Grief
How science shows us that death is not the end of consciousness.
Mediumship, Reincarnation, Near-Death and Shared-Death Experiences
This online class is for you if wonder whether your beloved dead are really still around and available for communication
Some Ways to Work Together
-
Wilderness Rites of Passage
Every earth-honoring culture across the planet has some form of initiation rite. These are used to mark crucial transitions in life, a way to shed the old and welcome in a new version of yourself.
I apprenticed in a tradition grounded here in the Americas and bring to it my experience of Celtic and Norse practices.I guide a eight month women’s rites of passage program. And a six month group rites of passage program open to everyone. These are based in the Blue ridge Mountains of NC.

Ancestral Connection Travel
It is not necessary to travel to the homelands of your ancestors to connect with them. And it can be a very powerful experience.
I guide small-group trips to Scotland designed to facilitate your deepening connection to the land and your own ancestors. We work online together as a group before we fly. We gather stories, rituals, crafts, music, food and friends as we go.Once a year (in May) I also guide an Ancestral Connection Vigil in the Scottish Highlands

Transformational Coaching
I provide transformational coaching (including hypnotherapy) in all the rites of passage programs. But if you are looking for one-on-one sessions without committing to a rite of passage ceremony then this is a good place to start.
I offer a 6-session coaching package on ancestral connection.
I have a limited number of spaces open for one-on-one work. Please be in touch and I’ll let you know how my schedule is looking currently.
